✔️ Make sure to at least 1/4 of an inch in hair length
❌ Please do not moisturize the day of hair removal for better results
❌ Avoid exfoliation the day of; it can cause some skin sensitivity
✔️ Protect yourself from the sun using a high quality sunblock
❌ Avoid Exfoliate for 48 hours; your skin may still be more sensitive than normal
❌ Avoid excessive heat for 24 such as physical activities, saunas, and hot tubs
❌ Avoid lotions and moisturizers that include harsh chemicals or fragrances
❌ Avoid tanning
❌ Avoid swimming
✔️ Best to come in with clean lashes or we will try our best to remove the product
❌ Do not wear contacts. Bring your case with you and a pair of back up glasses for after if you have them! If by some chance solution gets into your eye, the last thing you want to do is trap it behind a contact lens!
❌ Do not use coconut, castor oil or any oil on your lashes! Doing so will result in the lift to fall!
✔️Be gentle with your lashes; no rubbing
❌Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs
❌Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes
❌Do not go into excessive heat for 24 hours; the use of Sauna/Steam will weaken the effect of the lift
❌No eye make up for 24 hours
❌Do not wear waterproof mascara
✔️ Try to come in with clean brows or lashes however if you are wearing make-up (we will try our best to remove the product on the area)
✔️ Clean brows will ensure the tint can absorb properly
❌ Don't Get the Lash Wet. For the first 24 hours, your client will need to say no to water and steam if they don't want their results to fade
❌ Stay Out of the Sun. Strong sunlight/UV light can make the tint color fade faster
❌ Avoid Oil-Based Products
❌ Also avoid exfoliating facial cleansers
❌ You should also avoid excessive touching or rubbing for 24 hours to avoid irritation
❌ Chlorine can also shorten the wear of your tint, so be wary if you're a regular swimmer
✔️ Its strongly recommended that you contact your physician for a prescription of an antiviral medication Valtrex, Zovirax, or other anti-viral pre and post procedure to help prevent a herpes outbreak, specially if you have ever had chicken pox, fever blisters or cold sores
Start taking the medication the day of your treatment. This treatment does NOT cause any cold sores however it can trigger an outbreak in clients with a history
✔️ The skin must be free of all irritations including blemishes, eczema, and psoriasis
✔️ Must not be on Accutane medication for one year
✔️ You must wait 4 weeks after getting lip fillers, it is possible to have poor color retention in lips that have had collagen injections within 4 weeks, and within a year of Restylane. There is the risk of pigment migration along the lip line if you have had Restylane. If you plan on getting lip fillers after your procedure, you must wait at least 4 weeks
✔️ Stop taking Fish Oil, Vitamin C, Glucosamine, Evening Primrose Oil, or Ginger one week prior to your appointment as they thin the blood and prevent the pigment from implanting correctly. If you continue to use these the healed result may be patchy
✔️ Must wait 6 months after a lip implant
✔️ Please avoid any type of blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to your procedure UNLESS is unsafe to do so for your health. Please ask your doctor before stopping these type of medications. Such as: Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Advil, Niacin, Voltaren or Indocid. As well as Prenatal Vitamins, Vitamin E or Nutritional Shakes. No Tylenol
✔️ Do not work out on the day of the procedure
✔️ Avoid sun tanning or tanning beds prior to procedure. If you show up to your appointment with a sunburn you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn it will take the pigment. Tanned skin is damaged skin, and your color will not heal properly
✔️ Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to your procedure
✔️ Do not consume coffee or other caffeine products 24 hours prior
✔️ Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle
✔️ Please get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to hydrate prior to procedure
✔️ Immediately following the procedure, lips may feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch
✔️ You may wear lipstick, lip gloss, and chapstick after 7 days, make sure the tube of lip product is new. Please also wear SPF lip balm after 7 days to help protect the tissue and color as much as possible
❌ Apply Vaseline ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 7-10 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the day if lips feel dry, apply a light layer of ointment. Make sure to dab/press onto skin, do not rub it in
❌ Itching is normal, DO NOT PICK!
❌ Avoid moisture to the lips such as hot soups and hot coffee for 48 hours days. Drink everything through a straw until lips completely peel
❌ DO NOT stretch the lips. Avoid biting into large sandwiches, etc. Cut food into tiny bites
❌ Do not bite into greasy, oily, salty or spicy foods, rather cut them up and place them into your mouth
❌ While eating, do not constantly wipe your lips with a napkin or keep licking your lips at this will impede the healing process. DO NOT PICK dry healing tissue or you WILL remove the pigment color!
❌ Avoid underwater swimming and batching for a minimum of 2 weeks to avoid bacterial infection
❌ Before brushing your teeth, seal lips with ointment first. Put cotton balls in gum areas so toothbrush will not rub against the lips. No whitening toothpaste (during the healing process). Do not bleach/whiten your teeth while your lips are healing (about 2 weeks)
❌ You may apply an ice pack (which must be protected with a wet barrier film of paper toweling, towel or cloth) for 10-minute intervals for the first 48 hours. Ice may be applied every hour or so, if desired. Do not put ice directly on area
❌ Do not expose the lips to tanning beds for 4 weeks. This is new skin and will sunburn easily and direct sun prematurely may also cause scarring and alter pigment color
❌ No smoking while lips are healing (10 days minimum)
❌ No kissing, rubbing or friction on your newly tattooed lips until after 10 days or you may lose pigment
Expect moderate swelling to last 24-48 hours. Scabbing may make the lips feel thick. Lips will fade up to 50% after the first 5 days. While healing, the tattoo will look patchy. This is due to skin regeneration and healing. Two or three sessions may be required to achieve the desired results. Please be patient.
Cosmetic tattooing is a multiple-step appointment process with a healing time of approximately 6 weeks in between touch up appointments.
The above Pre and Post-Care for lips will affect how quickly or slowly you heal. Mature age, poor diet, stress, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, age, general health, sleep/fatigue. The more fatigued you are the lower your immune system is and infection is more likely to occur. Please get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to hydrate prior to procedure.
